I have had a similar experience there with Cerulean Warblers, finding them one day at the base of the slope and the next at the top, in the state forest. These were the same individuals, in all likelihood. It's a long way around for us, but very little for the birds! -Geo Kloppel --

Hi Annemarie, Thatcher's Pinnacles high point is in Danby State Forest. The Land Trust's trail system does not extend to there, or even to the border with the State Forest Land. I've been working on an interactive map that might help to show this a little more clearly. The final version should be

Hi Karen and all, It's not the Danby State Forest boundary that is inaccurate on that map. The boundary shown coincides fairly well (not perfectly) with the actual survey pins, whose locations I'm familiar with from years of walking the lines for the land trust. The problem is with the
