[cayugabirds-l] Pick up from Montezuma WR?

Anyone going to be at MWR and then coming to IThaca who could pick something up 
for me from the visitor center by September 3?  It would save me a trip, and 
I'd be very grateful!!!  Thank you!

Greetings: This is the Syracuse Rare Bird Alert for the week of August 22, 2015.
Highlights--
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERAMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVERSANDERLINGBUFF-BREASTED

NIGHTHAWKRED-HEADED WOODPECKEROLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERBOREAL CHICKADEE
Just a heads up to you birders. Songbird migration has started as evidenced by 
reports this week of WILSON’S WARBLER, CAPE MAY WARBLER, BAY-BREASTED WARBLER 
and YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER. 


Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex 
(MWC)
     14 species of shorebirds were reported at the complex this week, mostly 
along the Wildlife Drive since Knox-Marsellus and Puddler’s are still dry. 
Highlights were both DOWITCHERS (Morgan Road Marsh), STILT SANDPIPER, BAIRD’S 
SANDPIPER and I believe the first AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER.     8/27: 4 
RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS (2 adult, 2 juveniles) were seen on May’s Point Road. An 
OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was seen on Howland Island.

Onondaga county
     8/23: A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was seen at Oneida Shores Park.      8/24: 9 
species of Shorebirds including a SANDERLING were seen at Three Rivers WMA off 
of Smokey Hollow Road. A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was also seen.     8/27: A 
SHORT-BILED DOWITCHER was seen at Three Rivers WMA.     8/28: A BAIRD’S 
SANDPIPER was found along Rt.31 west of Bridgeport across from the Alex Lyon 
and Son business.

Oswego County
     8/28: A RUDDY TURNSTONE was seen at Fort Ontario in Oswego.     
Madison County
     8/27: 2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS and a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were found at 
the Sky-High Sod Farm on Lakeport Road north of Chittenango. 5 BUFF-BREASTEDS 
were counted on the 28th.

Oneida County-
     8/22: 6 species of Shorebirds including 2 SHORT-BILLE DOWITCHERS were seen 
at Delta Lake. One of the Dowitchers was seen again on the 24th.

Herkimer County
     8/22: A BOREAL CHICKADEE was seen on Bald Mountain off of Rt. 28 between 
Old Forge and Eagle Bay.
