This morning (~9am) there was a greater yellowlegs foraging around a gravel
bar in the mouth of Salmon Creek, readily viewable from Myers. A nice flock of
Bonaparte's gulls and three caspian terns were also present.

We’ve had an excellent migration of Broad-winged Hawks at Mount Pleasant today
(at the Hartung-Boothroyd Observatory). Sizable kettles have come over, with
peak of 85 birds in one kettle already. More on the way!!

Cruising through the Montezuma NWR Wildlife Drive this morning and a few
highlights include:
FOY Yellow Warbler
FOY Canada Geese goslings
A single Sandhill Crane
And MANY singing Swamp Sparrows
What a beautiful resource we have here in the Finger Lakes :)

The numbers of early morning juncos have left, but this morning about 20 WHITE
THROATED SPARROWS have taken their place eating on the ground along with one
EASTERN TOWHEE.

Wow! We have 2 white-throated sparrows but 14 purple finches! And still loads
of juncos.
