[cayugabirds-l] Goshawk?
John Parks in Animal Science (director of the Cornell Raptor Program) asked me to put this message on the list-serv. He lost an adult female Goshawk several days ago near Turkey Hill Road. John is out of town for a few days, and i said I'd monitor any sighting reports and try to recover the bird for him. If anyone sees an adult goshawk, please contact me at this e-mail address or leave a message on my work phone, below. [cayugabirds-l] Schuyler CBC early highlights
The Schuyler CBC is still underway. So far Sue and I have found the following gems: .an Eastern Meadowlark on Fitzgerald Road in the last eastern hedgerow before the 90 degree right turn toward our place. Very cold looking bird. .Six Snow Buntings and a lovely Rough-legged Hawk on Carley Rd right at the summit of Carley hill. So far we have found 41 species with low individual numbers due weather. We'll post a wrap up when Jack gives us the totals -probably in about two weeks. It was a muddy and wet count day as we slogged through mud and melting ice on the dirt roads at 40F.. Walking was treacherous on melting ice.
