Re: [cayugabirds-l] help with sound
Hi Asher, here are some sandhill crane sound samples: http://www.bakersanctuary.org/crane_calls.html good birdies Sue On Oct 11, 2010, at 3:21 PM, Asher Hockett wrote: Yesterday, working outside, I heard a mechanical rattling/chattering sound followed by a pair of loud trumpets. I looked up, and saw nothing, but then I heard the two trumpet sounds again, further south and then a few seconds later I heard them again, even further away. I am not sure if the Sandhill Cranes do that loud trumpeting, but the first sound I heard could have been a Sandhill sound. The trumpeting was very loud and quite musical, and each time I heard it it was two, one and then a second later another. Not like anything I have heard before. I have seen that field covered with water, over the years. Hope they do a good job!
