I just had a rather strange interaction with a tree sparrow. I've had 10-15 of them frequent the feeders all winter. They don't tolerate my presence like the chickadees do. Chickadees are brave souls who fly right up to me as I fill the feeders. They see me and know food is coming.

At Myers Point this morning I had the merganser sweep with a single FOY male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER. Also present were 3 KILLDEER and I spooked up the largest group of WOOD DUCK I've seen so far this year with about 25. And yesterday about 5:30pm I had another/ the same adult LESSER
