Near the parking area off of route 96 in Cass Park I saw two male Red-winged
Blackbirds at about 9:15am today. FOY for me. Also a Mockingbird close by.

A walk up and down Salt Road this afternoon produced a flock of some
20 White-winged Crossbills and a dozen Pine Siskins. The Siskins were
feeding on larch; the Crossbills flew over and only stopped to chat
for a minute or two.

Kevin I spent a couple hours at Shindagin Hollow State Forest today starting
around 10:45 A.M.
The best sighting was spotting along the edge of the road a RUFFED GROUSE. As
it walked up hill from the ditch to the forest it started ruffling it's ruff

I was in an area of tall trees in Shindagin Hollow this morning when I heard
several gronks. I eventually located 2 RAVENS, high, right overhead.
They were flying side-by-side when they simultaneously folded wings and
dropped for about 1 sec. They almost appeared as one bird. They repeated

Hi all,
I did a trip around the lake and highlights were large raft of Athya ducks,
Tundra swans (far out in the middle of the lake), flotilla of Snow Geese in the
same locations I have been seeing in the past (don't they ever move?) mostly
around Union Springs and the latter near Aurora.
