Nice warbler flock right at the first apple tree at the entrance to the Park
preserve right now (9:45 am). Orange crowned, Nashville, palm, magnolia, lots
of yellow rumped warblers? many ruby crowned kinglets and more.

Tilden and I paid a visit to the Cornell Community Gardens along Freese Road
on Saturday morning (9:30-10:15 AM). Along the most-traveled path through
the northern half, we found one LINCOLN'S SPARROW (Tilden's life bird - ten
seconds of fine viewing), a FIELD SPARROW, several SAVANNAH SPARROWS,

I spent a couple of hours in the morning (10.30 to 12.30 hr) in the Hawthorn
Orchard, but saw most of the birds in the poplars and ashes grove of south west.
The group consisted of
several Magnolia
several Yellow-rumps
3 Black-throated greens
1 Pine Warbler
1 Nashville feeding
I forgot to add sparrows to the list
1 White Crowned sparrow
several White-throated sparrows
2 Song Sparrows
were also see in the same vicinity.

Around noon today I checked out Kingsbury Woods conservation area on Jersey
Hill Road. While listening to the radio in the car a Nashville Warbler came
down to forage in the bushes right in front of the car, ID-able with the naked
eye. A good omen, I thought, along with the yodeling pileateds
I decided to chase the Connecticut warblers this morning as I opted not too
yesterday late day. I never hold out hope to find these guys after reports, but
I thought I would have nothing to lose as it might be birdie otherwise. Stuart
and I birded together after meeting on the drive there.
