A great crested Flycatcher has shown up at Sapsucker Woods, along with a

The lake off Myers Point was quiet this morning with no sign of grebes or
scoters from yesterday, but an ORCHARD ORIOLE was singing near the park
entrance.
Yesterday in addition to Ben's Red-necked Grebe I found six Horned Grebes
south of the marina, but was not able to relocated his suspicious

At 7:30 a.m. this morning I watched a male Indigo Bunting at a sunflower
seed feeder near my house. He made several trips from nearby bushes.
On the other side of house, I soon after saw a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak
at the suet cake and then on a sunflower feeder there.

Best news is this is a great year for TROUT LILLIES. All along the road. I
prefer them to the masses of white trilliums which should be out in force by
this weekend. Bird news: other than about 10 OVENBIRDS, I found no other
warblers there. And most activity took place before 0830; very

Just now 0945, while an FOY gorgeous male Baltimore Oriole sang and a Yellow
Warbler zoomed off, an Osprey and a Broad-winged Hawk soared overhead,
drifting-flapping-drifting to the NW. I don't often see osprey over the yard,
but there are many smaller waterbodies about, of course.

I had two what-I-thought-were-purple-finches this morning, just by
passively listening to their background soundtrack, though then I noticed
they were consistently doing a pretty short version of a song for a PUFI,

My first response was to look for my phone in my pocket as I have Winter Wren
as my one of the ringtones. Then realized that I have not brought the
