I spent a couple of hours yesterday evening at Knox-Marcellus Marsh. HUNDREDS
of shorebirds were present, most unfortunately just too far for me to ID.
Hopefully, someone else will find the White-rumped Sandpiper, since, by date,
it is early for the fall. While searching the ebird data, I found
This morning at Upper Buttermilk I came upon 2 SCARLET TANAGERS
counter-singing across the road. What was so unusual was the ferocity
and speed by which one bird sang. I've never heard a tanager singing so
rapidly and with such intensity!
