Highlights of a Montezuma ride this afternoon/evening included a cloud
of "starlings" over the smartweed at the beginning of the wildlife drive
that turned out to be Bobolinks. We counted 200 flying in to join the rest
after the main group landed, so easily 1000+. Other wildlife drive

I was listening to the radio program 'wait wait don't tell me' while I was
roasting whole wet peanuts on the stove. So in between I just looked out of my
front door. Between a meter gap of two massive Norway maples, I had glimpses
of a bird some 500 ft away in the skyline flying abov
I am looking to buy one or two used binoculars (reasonable quality) for
when I host international visitors. I sent my last pair home with an
Indian student, and now I have no extra. If you have upgraded recently and

At least 4 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS continue at southeast corner of Puddlers
Marsh (end of Towpath Rd), along with small numbers of all the other expected
shorebirds.

Hi all,
Last night I heard an Eastern Screech Owl trilling and in between trilling he
made some kind of squeaky cooing noises. This is the first time I have heard
such calls. So I dragged myself out of my bed to fetch the recorder which was
still packed away in my bag from my trip to Montana. B
