Juvenile Sanderling continues at Myers Point- on the small beach at base of
lighthouse, not main spit.

Lunar Eclipse 27 Sep 2015
Eclipse was observed from Ithaca NY, my backyard.
For anyone who missed them earlier in the season, a juvenile SANDERLING is
foraging near the end of the spit at Myers Point. Also several flocks of
NORTHERN PINTAIL going down the lake and a group of 16 TERNS, mostly COMMON
with at least one FORSTER'S, just went by heading north.

Many dozens of calling thrushes are passing southbound over Ithaca at 7:30
PM. We have been hearing mostly Swainson’s Thrushes, but also at least six
Gray-cheeked Thrushes just in the last five minutes.

Thanks for the heads-up. Remember, all the good birds are on the east side of
these storms, so we want it to pass to our west. If it stays to the east, all
we get are heavy rains. The forecast at
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at1.shtml?5-daynl#contents makes it look iffy
for us.
