Fwd: [cayugabirds-l] Cayuga Bird Club November meeting

2015-11-09 Thread Laura Stenzler
Just a reminder

The Cayuga Bird Club will be meeting on Monday, November 9, at 7:30 at the
Cornell Lab of Ornithology with cookies and conversation at 7:15.

Our speaker will be Marie Read, wildlife photographer and Cayuga Bird Club
member. In her presentation, "Alaska's Pribilof Islands: Bucket List Trip!",
she will share photos and experiences from a recent trip.

Alaska's Pribilof Islands, in the middle of the Bering Sea, have long been
known as a wildlife photographers' paradise. Colonies of photogenic seabirds at
close range -- Tufted and Horned Puffins, Crested and Parakeet Auklets,
Northern Fulmars and Red-faced Cormorants among others -- as well as Northern
Fur Seals and adorable Arctic Foxes beckon photographers in summer, while the
promise of rarities from Asia draws birders during spring and fall migration.

There is no speaker dinner this month, so plan to be at the Lab at 7:15 for
cookie dessert before the meeting begins.

[cayugabirds-l] Great Egret - Geneva

2015-11-09 Thread M Miller
Just had a Great Egret fly over 96A in Fayette (by Kime Rd) at 7 AM on its way
towards Seneca Lake Park area. Thought it was a little late for them!
