Interesting that Cowbirds and a Grackle showed up today.  In multiple

[cayugabirds-l] Thayer's Gull, Stevenson Rd.

Found on Sunday but absent yesterday, a beautiful 1st cycle THAYER'S GULL
is this morning back on the active pile of the compost at Stevenson Road.
Also present are a 1st cycle GLAUCOUS GULL, possibly up to three ICELAND
GULLS, and at least one 1st cycle LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. I haven't seen
it yet this morning, but yesterday I had an adult HERRING X GREAT
BLACK-BACKED GULL HYBRID, perhaps the same bird as in past years returning.

For anyone interested, there is a small but highly visible group of Black
Ducks hanging out at Sapsucker Woods. One of the birds was banded and I got
the following info after reporting it:

Species: American Black Duck
Date banded: 02/04/2014
Banding Location: NEAR AURORA, CAYUGA COUNTY, NEW YORK, USA
Age: HATCHED IN 2012 OR EARLIER
Sex: MALE
