This was my first full year of "serious" birding thanks to an upgrade in
binoculars. It's been a memorable year.
Highlights in the Cayuga Basin for me were: the elusive Tufted Duck, the
American Avocet at Montezuma last winter, the Great Horned Owl and her two
chicks, the massive Snow Geese clou
Tried again for the grebe on the Main Pool this morning, again without
success. I did finally find a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE out on the far
side of the goose flock.
Yesterday picking Livia up from the Syracuse airport we found a well-marked
SNOWY OWL sitting on a snow pile north of the overflo
