Again winds are calm and birds are aloft tonight. Radar beams for weather go
out in a straight line which rotates, forming a disc or shallow cone. Because
of the Earth's curvature, the beam samples higher and higher altitudes farther
from the radar station. After sunset migrating birds fly up
I visited a plantation area on the west side of lower Michigan Hollow this
morning, hoping for Pine Warblers. What I got was Red-breasted Nuthatches,
Brown Creepers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Hermit Thrushes.

Kevin pointed out another Yellow-rumped Warbler yesterday up here on the North
Wilson side of the Sapsucker Pond, but I only heard it then.
Today, I heard then caught up with it for some good looks.
This is FYI for Sapsucker Woods walkers this weekend.
It was near the beaver exclosure cage both
They were singing at Monkey Run South this morning. Great sound!

There was a single Yellow-rumped Warbler singing lustily from the shrubs just
NW of the boathouse this morning. Palm Warbler next?
