[cayugabirds-l] Common Loons etc
11-12 in middle of Cayuga Lake just off my shore here in Lansing. More north and south. Can hear much "hooting" from them. To me it sounds like squeaky, high-pitched dog barks. They were joined by lots of Ring Billed Gulls, a few Herring Gulls, and a couple DC Cormorants hoping to steal fish from Loons. Then a male White Winged Scoter flew by, going south! Yellow Rumped Warbler up by RR track, along with all the feeder birds and Woodpeckers (Downy, Hairy, Red Bellied). There are two Canada geese Stewart park not far golf course and boat club. Both can fly a bit but are both in trouble with fishing line.
