[cayugabirds-l] Counters needed for Area III: Ithaca Christmas Bird Count, January 1 2017
Hi everyone, I'm area coordinator for Area III which includes the Village of Dryden, Hammond Hill, Yellow Barn State Forest and areas south to Slaterville. I have a couple of areas for which I still need birders to count. If you'd like to participate please contact me directly m...@cornell.edu The areas are: Irish Settlement Road - lots of open space adjacent to and including the Park Preserve and Hammond Hill. Several houses with feeders along the road, as well as spots frequented by Northern Shrike in the recent past. North side of the Village of Dryden, including Ferguson Road northward to Mott Road. A more suburban area but likely to have several feeders with birds. And if you're up for snowshoeing or skiing, this area includes abandoned railroad tracks that are now hiking trails. Please consider joining in the fun. It's a great way to start the new year! Hi Does anyone know if there are any ducks in the ponds in Union Springs? Has anyone seen any eagles recently at Montezuma or cranes in the mucklands? Thanks Judy On Thu, Dec 29, 2016 at 12:03 AM, Upstate NY Birding digest < cayugabird...@list.cornell.edu> wrote: > CAYUGABIRDS-L Digest for Wednesday, December 28, 2016. > > 1.
