I saw thousands of snow geese today in a field on the right as I was
heading south on route 34 from auburn towards Ithaca.

Union Springs, NY 21 March 2018
Once again we are/were in awe of the tremendous numbers of Snows
overhead. This afternoon I took John for a short ride about 3 mi. east of
the Springs. We noticed MANY dozens of Snow geese_decoys_ in a field
near Da
More yard activity: 20 robins on the lawn and 200 starlings in the field. A
mockingbird supervising the search for lunch. A pair of house sparrows in a
new nest box I put up a few weeks ago.

Lots of birds around today and migrants are beginning to appear. A female
PURPLE FINCH had breakfast at our hopper feeder in the company of a
multitude of house finches. Keep looking. There's probably something at
your feeders that you don't see very often.
