Thanks all. Sure looks like one to me, doing his little hoppy dance
Great to see one out in the open. The only other times I have seen them in
the yard has been under an evergreen in the shady dark.

I believe I have a winter fox sparrow under my feeders right now. Never
had one here in winter before, only spring.
Likelihood of this?

Yay! I think the few that are around are visiting feeders just to give us
birders a thrill, then they are off to the next feeder to spread the joy!

Female Evening Grosbeak under the feeder NOW! Picking up spilled sunflower seed
along with Mourning Doves, Juncoes, and a Tree Sparrow. The Bluejays keep the
feeder to themselves, filling their crops then flying off to stash their dinner.

While shoveling out my car this morning in West Danby (13”), I heard an Evening
Grosbeak calling. Looked up, and there she was in a tree. I was so happy to see
her that I retreated into the house, hoping she’d check out the feeders, and
that’s what she did, but not for long...

My feeders have constant traffic of the usual suspects, but finally returning
after a few years, regular visitors include white and red breasted
nuthatches. A constant treat right outside my windows!
