Thanks all.  Sure looks like one to me, doing his little hoppy dance
Great to see one out in the open. The only other times I have seen them in
the yard has been under an evergreen in the shady dark.

had one here in winter before, only spring.

[cayugabirds-l] Evening Grosbeak

While shoveling out my car this morning in West Danby (13”), I heard an Evening 
Grosbeak calling. Looked up, and there she was in a tree. I was so happy to see 
her that I retreated into the house, hoping she’d check out the feeders, and 
that’s what she did, but not for long...

[cayugabirds-l] Super Birdy so far this year

My feeders have constant traffic of the usual suspects,  but  finally returning 
after  a few years,  regular visitors include  white and red breasted 
nuthatches. A constant treat right outside my windows!
