It’s quite windless out on Tupper Road this evening. Moments ago I whistled-up a couple of Saw-whet Owls. I stood in the mouth of my driveway, directing my toots across the road, and in response I got one rapid series of toots after another from the spruce plantation. As the tooting continued over there, a second Saw-whet flitted silently back and forth in the branches right above my head. Also heard several rising calls.
