July 18 2022

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     7/18: 8Shorebird species including 2 BLACK-BELLIED PLIVERS were seen on 
the Wildlife Drive. Also seen was a LEAST BITTERN.

     7/21: 11 Shorebird species including 5 STILT SANDPIPERS and 9 SHORT-BILLED 
DOWITCHERS were seen on the Wildlife Drive.

     7/23: 10 Shorebird species including a LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER were seen on 
the Wildlife Drive.







Oswego County

     7/18: 7 STILT SANDPIPERS and 3 WILLETS were seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet 
on Lake Ontario.

     7/20: An AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER was seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet.

     7/22: An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was again found on Cowpath Road near Fulton.

     7/24: 8 Shorebird species a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER were seen at the Sandy 
Pond Outlet.







Onondaga County

     7/18: A RUDDEY TURNSTONE was seen at the Marshy Spits on the west side of 
Onondaga Lake south of the Honeywell Center.

     7/19: A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen on the Onondaga Creek Creek 
Walk near Spencer Street in Syracuse.

     7/20: A GREAT EGRET was spotted from Laird Road in Memphis.







Madison County

------------




     7/19: 2 BLACK VULTURES continue near the McDonalds on Rt.13 north of 
Canastota. One or two were spotted on the 22nd. and the 23rd.

     7/20: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen on West Lake Road at the north end 
of Cazenovia Lake.

     7/24: A FISH CROW was found on Seneca Street in Oneida.







Oneida County

------------




     7/19: A FISH CROW was heard on Belle Ave in Utica.

     7/20: A SAW-WHET OWL was found at a private residence in Waterville.

     7/21: A GRASSHOPPER was nicely photographed at Griffiss Park in Rome.

     7/22: 2 FISH CROWS were heard in Boonville.

     7/24: A SWAINSON’S THRUSH was heard near Woodgate in the Adirondacks.
