Yesterday there was a flock of AMERICAN PIPITS in a newly plowed and planted
field on Perry City Road, outside Trumansburg... a new bird for my "home" list,
and a new bird for my life list!

EA. BLUEBIRDS have been around for a few weeks now. EA. PHOEBE since about
last week sometime. Today I saw my FOY SAVANNAH SPARROW. CHIPPING SPARROW
singing enthusiastically along with some commoners: AM. ROBIN, RW BLACKBIRD, GH
OWL (last night), SONG SPARROW, CAR. WREN, NO. CARDINAL. Also,
I saw a pair (m & f) of EASTERN BLUE BIRDS investigating a nest cavity this
morning around 7:30. The nest (and the birds) were in a walnut tree in my yard
on Perry City Rd. The cavity was used last year with success (but with at
least one casualty)... I wonder if it's the same pair.
