Hi Bob
I'm pretty sure I saw a Woodcock out the back of my house on Cosmos Hill west
of Homer at about 6pm last night (Thursday 4th). I was walking in an area
between a field and scrub, and it just shot up in from of me.

I spotted a couple of Helmeted Guinea fowl (Numida meleagris) by the side of
the road this morning. (Sweeney Road, Cortland ) I presume they are escaped or
feral. I also heard that they are useful in reducing the tick population and
also that there might be an issue with competition with
Brown Thrasher?
Toxostoma rufum
ORDER: Passeriformes
