Greetings, We had two Woodcock “peenting” in our backyard this evening. It’s unusual to have them here when there is still so much snow on the ground. Also had a FOS Fox Sparrow trying to scratch up a meal through the frozen snow. Greetings, At 4:45 there was a Short-eared Owl perched on the utility pole at the north end of Scofield Rd where it ends at Buck Rd. It took off and flew south across the field on the east side of Scofield Rd. Heard and then saw an adult Bald Eagle perched in a tall White Pine on the northwest shore of the Ithaca reservoir. Flew south back towards Burns Rd but I could not relocate. We have had 20-30 goldfinches consistently for the last month, also ~20 Tree Sparrows, here in the hills between Lansing and Groton. No siskens yet.
