Thursday while on horseback near ponds off West Genesee Street Road/
Short Road, Aurelius, we disturbed three trumpeter swans that had
been on the pond bank. They circled and headed back towards the
refuge. Thanks to the Lab of O, I identified them this morning by
their calls. I remember
At Little Paine's Creek
Three black vultures
Rest on the bank
Waiting. Waiting.
Suckers are running.
Yesterday there was one
Tomorrow? Perhaps none.

A tufted titmouse vocalized loudly right outside the Kennedy 211
windows during class (south side of Kennedy), so I pointed it out to
my students. Such a tidy and dapper little gentleman.
