[cayugabirds-l] osprey

2015-05-01 Thread lrumsey
There is a pair of Osprey building a nest at the end of VanDyne Spoor Rd. They
are not
not very far along, but have several branches on top of a pole and flushed when
I
pulled up. I left and parked some distance away and they returned after
several minutes.

[cayugabirds-l] Great crested flycatcher

2013-06-21 Thread lrumsey

I just had a Great crested flycatcher land on the top of my bird feeder, stayed
for app. a minute
and droped to the ground. I did not see him fly away, but he was gone when I
tried to sneek out and
get a picture. I'm in the village of Newfield and was very suprised to see it.

2012-08-04 Thread lrumsey
While I was at Tschache having lunch, a large white bird with black wing edges
few in and landed closeby.
This was larger than the egrets there. I beleave it was the white Pelican that
there has been talk of here.
