I spent an hour at the Cornell compost facilities yesterday (Sunday, 28 Nov 10). Few crows to be seen, but I did see single individuals of
ICELAND GULL - A rather robust, dirty-looking 1st cycle that has been around for a few weeks; France Dewaghe had it at Stewart Park on the 12th or so, and it's been at the compost the last 3 weekends. The wingtips are quite plain white with only a little shading. GLAUCOUS GULL - A dirty-looking 1st cycle that appears to have some dusky on its wingtips. LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL - Adult.
