I have a question from an historian friend of mine about identification of a
bird illustration in a 16th century Italian manuscript. My guess has been a
Black Crowned Night Heron, but I’m hoping for some expert opinion.

I’m not sure if the list allows attachments, but I can send a jpeg to anyone
who would like to attempt an identification.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Constance Finlay
