We just had a sharp-shinned hawk join us for dinner. He struck (prey
unidentifiable in seconds) right in front of our deck windows and spent about
40 min on the ground disassembling and eating his catch. His eating style was
very animated. Truly a remarkable sight. I saw a sharpie (likely the same
bird) hunting from a tree right next to the deck last year. This puts him in a
perfect place to strafe our feeders-sort of like Wegmans for bird hawks.
