Apparently there is a sizeable carcass of something in the middle of a field on the south side of Kellys Corners Road, maybe 1/4 mile west of Tunison. At 1:00 pm this afternoon, a vulture was feeding on it and an adult Bald Eagle was standing 3-4 feet away, watching. The instantaneous impression was that somehow the vulture had intimidated the eagle although surely the eagle already had eaten its fill and was permitting the vulture to have at it. But why did the eagle stick around to watch?!
