I don't remember a Porsche but I do clearly recall a customized van he drove to spring bird biology field trips, either in "00 or '01. The van was all wood paneled inside and immaculate. Ever after I would meet him at various mtgs etc. and sometimes with his bike. In those years he wore an orange biking jacket and was easy to spot. I could even know it was him from our house above Rte 89 heading north. Wonderful, friendly man. I felt fortunate to have known him.
