This morning, we were very surprised to see a female RING-NECKED PHEASANT feeding under our front bushes. She was eating the millet seeds that I had scattered there yesterday morning.
I don't think I have ever personally heard or seen Ring-necked Pheasants in the Etna area, but am fairly certain they have been here in the past, just knowing the area. There was also a single PINE SISKIN at our thistle feeders today. Lastly, almost every day, as long as there is suet available, we usually receive 1-2 visits from a pair of PILEATED WOODPECKERS. Pretty neat to watch at such close range. Good birding!
