The pelican has wandered, so keep your eyes peeled.  I got this message yesterday (18 July) from Suzanne Henderson.

Begin forwarded message:

Dave,I wanted to bring you up to date on the Pelican. It appears to have left Dorchester Park.My friend did not walk this morning due to storms in that area. When she went late in the afternoon the Pelican was not there, but she got to personally question the Park Manager, and he said the AmWhtPelican had not been seen any time during the day today, and he (the manager) felt it had moved on. He told her that an American White Pelican was present at Dorchester Park last year for about three days. He said the behavior of the Pelican last year was much like this year, it  was present during morning hours, and always in the middle of Canadian Geese. He said he recalled it seemed to be resting the first day, and then became more actively flying around on the few subsequent days it remained. My friend did not ask him if he had noted the dates last year that a AmWhtPelican was present. My friend has been walking the park for years, but just started early morning walks there this year. She knows she did not see it last year.

Do you know if anyone from Ithaca went to see it? Do you recall any previous reports of sighting an AmWhtPelican from that area?
