Marianne L. and I watched the HUDSONIAN GODWIT moving around at Benning Marsh (11 a.m.) - handsome with the chestnut color showing in the sunlight. On Vandyne Spoor Road, we heard an ORCHARD ORIOLE singing just at the edge of the woods before it opens up into the marshy area. Two other audio treats: AMERICAN BITTERN and (whinnying of) a SORA. At the east end of the road, there were several BLACK TERNS swooping around and skimming the water, and a COMMON MOORHEN dabbled close to shore.
