This morning Becky Hansen found and took an exquisite photo of a
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW in the Cornell Community Gardens on Freese Road.
Congratulations, Becky!

Sapsucker Woods has continued to host a lot of migrants over the past few
days, including many slightly-late warbler species plus expected
Blue-headed Vireos, kinglets, and others. I’ve seen Swainson’s Thrushes
four or five times in the past few weeks, and twice in the past three days,
in the buckthorn over the trail between the Sherwood Platform and the small
footbridge on the Wilson Trail North. See eBird for more details from many
birders (go to “Explore a Region” and enter Tompkins County, or “Explore a
Hotspot”).
