At 8:00 this morning a Merlin was perched atop the big snag on the pond at Sapsucker Woods. After a minute, it dropped down over the back of the pond, and I couldn't relocate it.
The trees near the visitors center entrance were covered with blackbirds, a mix of Red-winged Blackbirds and Rusty Blackbirds.
