Hi Cayuugabirders, This morning 10:30 ish I was walking on Mt Pleasant Rd when I noticed two raptors slowly approaching from the north, both soaring with a slight dyhedral wing shape . One was confirmed as a Turkey Vulture after it was close enough for me to see its red head, but the other gave me pause: very large size, no obviously unfeathered head, very dark overall including underneath, no white or light underwing pattern, not a flat enough wing position for a Bald Eagle. I kept it in my binocular view as it approached and finally flew directly above me, when I got a brief of its golden brown head/nape. So I'm calling it an adult Golden Eagle. WOW!
