Dave Nutter, Susan Danskin, and I just returned from Montezuma after an unsuccessful search for the Ruff. None at Puddler's marsh, nor May's Point Pool, Tschache, North Spring Pool, nor the Wildlife Drive.

The only concentration of shorebirds was at Puddler's: numerous Lesser Yellowlegs (no Greater that I could find) and Killdeer, 4 Semipalmated Plovers, 2 Semipalmated Sandpipers, several least Sandpipers, 1 White- rumped Sandpiper. (No dowitchers) A dozen Ring-billed Gulls and 6 Caspian Terns. Green-winged Teal and Mallards. 2 immature Bald Eagles.
