On my way home just now I saw an OSPREY in a dead snag in the pond along Rt. 38 south of Dryden just north of Crystal Drive.
The COMMON TEAL was still at George Road this morning. I will have to check again tomorrow when the bird might be closer, but it was my impression I could make out just the shadow of vertical white bar on the shoulder, indicating this bird might by an intergrade between the two subspecies, though it still shows characters of a Eurasian much more than of an American. If true, this would also indicate this is a different bird than the one I found on the 17th that was present until at least the 20th (but not the 22nd through the 25th), because I took careful note of that bird and it did not seem to show any such shoulder mark. I will look into this soon.
