Red-headed Woodpeckers bred at Cayuga Lake State Park this year. I think they used a tree south of the boat ramp. In mid-September Ann Mitchell & I saw both an adult and a juvenile in trees on the opposite/west side Lower Lake Road near a lodge and north of the parking lot & office. There have

After I watched the Snow geese for a while at Dean’s Cove, then by the road in Varick, I drove north on Rt. 89 to the Knox Marcellus marsh to look at the sandhill cranes ( & swans & ducks). I think there were 3-400 cranes & many of them were calling & flying out of the marsh , across East
