On Friday morning, a male PINE WARBLER was singing continuously and exclusively from tall pines on both sides of Sapsucker Woods Road, north of the gated trailheads. I confirmed this bird by sight after much effort. I believe that this is not quite the latest in the season that I've ever found this species in the sanctuary, but it's close. This one seemed to be acting territorial.
I also heard and saw a BLACKPOLL WARBLER on Simsbury Drive at dawn, and saw five or six WILD TURKEYS in the field along Hanshaw Road between Freese Road and Bluegrass Lane.
