Screech owl was present at Slaterville Springs gas station this afternoon at
3:30, was absent at 9:30am. No cel reception there, apparently.

Yesterday only one person (Eva) joined me on the CBC field trip, which ended up
going around the lake. Highlights include Iceland gulls at East Shore amid nice
redhead rafts; horned larks foraging close near the triangle diner (just a few
snow buntings, no longspurs), goldeneye head throw displays at long point, no
snowy at Seneca Falls airport, ring-necked ducks at Sheldrake with an adult
bald eagle perched just above the road, and many tundra swans throughout
(starting from Ladoga). Late lunch at Glenwood Pines had a flyover accipiter.
Fun day of birding in relative warmth.
