I will be leading a day-long trip to Lake Ontario, south shore (Sodus Bay, Fair Haven, etc.) this coming SATURDAY (Jan 27th). The reason for the change is to take advantage of somewhat better weather conditions. Meet at the Children’s Garden, Cass Park, at 8 am for carpooling. We will be looking for loons, ducks, scoters, grebes, and swans, as well as field birds. There are recent reports of Barrow’s Goldeneye, different scoters, and Purple Sandpiper. On the way up we will check the Peregrine/Turkey Vulture roost site at Taughannock and look for the Red-headed Woodpecker at Cayuga Lake SP.
