Thursday while on horseback near ponds off West Genesee Street Road/
Short Road, Aurelius, we disturbed three trumpeter swans that had
been on the pond bank. They circled and headed back towards the
refuge. Thanks to the Lab of O, I identified them this morning by
their calls. I remember reading about their very limited numbers and
limited distribution when I was in elementary school in Union
Springs. It strikes me as marvelous that I can now see them without
even searching them out.
