Hi, Everyone--
Someone on the listserve today asked about pedestrian access up the steep
east side of Cayuga Inlet Valley, on the Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity
Preserve.  I asked the Land Trust's executive director, Andy Zepp, to
respond, and this is what he wrote back:

I’m not on the list.  Would you mind letting folks know that while we’ve
considered a trail connection between the Abbott Loop and the L-P trails,
we have not done so because of periodic use of All Terrrain Vehicles and
other prohibited uses on state land and the fact that making a trail
connection on the steep slopes would lead to erosion and perhaps result in
 ATV trespass on the preserve.

My own feeling is that this very steep slope ("glacially over-steepened
valley wall") is best left undisturbed.  I hope fellow birders, in their
enthusiasm, will honor this.
