This morning as I was leaving Dodge Road after successfully seeing and hearing Jay's WHITE-EYED VIREO, I turned onto Stevenson Road and headed toward Turkey Hill. Just as I was passing the compost piles a large bird came flying past at a high rate of speed, at just a bit above tree-top level. It presented an aspect quite unlike anything I am familiar with. I managed to snap off 2 photos through my windshield and have posted them at https://picasaweb.google.com/KevinJ.McGowan/Birds2011#5602158258312362402 and https://picasaweb.google.com/KevinJ.McGowan/Birds2011#5602158493073943394.
An interesting addition to my "doesn't count" Basin life list. Kevin Kevin J.
