Along the trails by the ponds on my property this morning, were many
species already reported (whew, lots of RBGR) but, such fun seeing a
chatty little Spotted Sandpiper with background chorus of Warbling Vireos
and several orioles. Spring is most definitely here! Happy birding all.

Livia and I came across another out-of-season bird at Salt Point in Lansing
this morning: a WARBLING VIREO! Considered late any time after September,
this is quite a surprise. It seemed content enough, foraging actively in
brushy areas on the point. We came across it four or five different times

Hi all,
In my wanderings this morning, I cam across a Warbling Vireo newly arrived at
the Cornell Plantations Arboretum, in a river birch at the end of the wooden
bridge over the pond, the same spot where they have nested in the past. Later a
second WAVI landed in a different tree, was joined b

to reserve one feeder just for them (and bir

This morning along E Miller Rd in Danby, I heard a Warbling Vireo vocalizing
for the first time since late July. I also heard a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and
an American Robin doing its "spring song". They all had that tentative,
first-year-male-testing-out-the-song sound to them.
Bird!
