A short walk around South Spring Pool at Montezuma (off the route 89 parking
area) around 1 PM Friday produced very few birds but did see a Northern
Waterthrush and a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher on the north side of the path,
about 100 yards or so past the overlook platform. Also had a bunch of Downy
Woodpeckers, Green Heron, & a Greater Yellowlegs.

On the auto route, LaRue's Lagoon had a Am. Golden Plover, Pectoral Sandpipers,
Caspian Terns, Yellowlegs, RB Gulls, & assorted ducks. A Peregrine Falcon
seemed to be following me, posed for close photos at the "carp" spillway, then
followed me around the bend to perch just before Benning Marsh for even closer
pics.

Good Luck to the Muck Racers!
